"I believe that no two careers are alike, so why should every person be given the same career advice."
You might be at a different phase in your career, wanting to go in a new direction or build upon prior experience. Who knows but you? This is why New Avenues programs are designed with your needs in mind.
I want to listen to your career story and understand where you want to take your next steps. Putting your goals out on the table and making them become a reality takes more than listening.
It takes learning what you need to do to reach your career dreams. You know you want to change, and if you knew how, you probably would not be reading about career services.
Talking about career change is a fascinating subject to me, and in my experience, when people describe a job search, it is almost like they need to whisper, “I am job searching,” but don’t tell anyone.
Searching for new career opportunities can often feel awkward and unnatural when asking for help. Often the best advice is a meager suggestion to look at a company’s website.
Managing your career is a two-fold challenge – knowing what you want and asking questions. New Avenues can help you build rapport with others that enable you to gather information and develop an action plan to achieve your career goals.
